Brief history, Crohns for 20 odd years, 3 bowel resections in 95,
adhesions caused bowel blockage in 2003
Last Colconscopy 2003, GI could get through to do adhesions etc
Barrum meal follow through around same time showed about 8 cms of
adhesions affect by active Crohns in illieum where I was rejoined
Ever since a bowel blockage and the server diahperra attacks a year
almost to the day later in 2004, when I had to go to ER, as I was
almost septic, I've not been the same.
It goes like this, I have a few fair days ( good for cornnies I guess
u could call it) then day or two of some consitpation then bloating
and then every 7 to 10 days, the opposite occurs
rareley same day, so not exacly always 7 or 10 days, it varies,
doesn't matter what I eay, I have a fairly basic diet.
Went and saw my GI two weeks ago for first time in 6 mths, he tried to
blames all symptons on medications
Entocort 6mg, 2 3mg a day, MS Contin slow release 60mg a day for
chronic sinus, pelvic and back pain caused by reactive arthrtis a
crohns related condition.
Also use Panadeneine Fotre wiich has 30mg of Codine or Ordine solution
for break through pain/
Pain doc does not feel pain meds I am on for my size are high, I am
198cm tall, weight 115 to 125kg, yeah my weight flucactes depending on
what gut is doing.
If I try to reduce Entocort to even just 2 every 2nd day and 1 ever
oher day, by the 4th day like that, I reproduce the flare up.
He just doesn't seem to want to accept that will happen or give me an
option or assistance to help ease the withdrawll of them.
Thankfully my partner was with me, as the day I sw GI I had been
having a bad day with fare ups, yet he couldn't see it.
He even asked me who was prescibing the ENtocort ( steriods) I had to
remind him, he did
Then he suggested COlonscopy, once again I had to remind him about
2003 and he said oh, so he order a ct enterography of small bowel (
apparently quite new)
I had that last week, showed certain signs of adhesions in illiem area
of small bowel, ( even I could tell looking on CT monitor at the end,
( I have had over 20 ct's since 1995, so I do know how to read
them),so no surpirse, but he could not say if any crohns was active or
not, so what was the point of it?
Now he again suggested colonscopy and I again had to remind him of
2003, what is with this guy, does he keep records or is he just to dam
lazy or busy to read his own notes.!!!
He has now ordered a mri of small bowel, which I have not heard of
I mean I've had them on pelvic and hip problems, but never small bowel
Anyone heard of them being done, what is he hoping to find?
Should I dump this guy?
Get my sugroen to look at CT scan and get his views?
