I've been somewhat s****adic in reading the news group lately so again,
please excuse this late posting to this thread.

Another theory is that bacteria actually invade the cells lining the
intestinal wall. Therefore the bodies defensive system sees them as
foreign
and attacks them, which causes the inflammation. This theory is one that
sup****ts the fact that antibiotics can often help in the treatments of
both
UC and CD. I've taken antiobiotics and they have helped me.

Also the use of probiotics has been shown to be benefitial too. One
explanation is that the probiotics compete for the same food source as the
pathologic bacteria therefore acting as a type of population control. Also
it is thought that probiotics actually perform beneficial and necessary
functions for proper digestion such as breaking down food so it can be
absorbed throught the intestinal wall into the blood.
