You doctor is better qualified than anyone here to answer those questions,
simply because he/she is more knowledgeable about you.

Imuran may not have worked for you, or it may have needed longer to work
in
your case. If it had started to work, you may have felt even better than
you
do now. You may have come off the pred too soon. Hard to say really.

The Imuran seemed to work for my wife, just took a lot longer than 2
months (I
think it was closer to 6 months) before she could get off the prednisone
and
take just the Imuran. Then we couldn't afford the Imuran, so she has been
taking nothing (we did get the doctor to prescribe 6mp, which does have a
cost
assistance program... waiting for approval now).
