I don't have Crohn's or Colitis. But I've had a tem****ary ostomy (due
to surgery for rectal cancer) since September and it's been going well
so far. As soon as I am done with the next 2 rounds of chemo, I'm
looking at reversing the ostomy and living with a j-pouch.
I posted these question on the ostomy site at first but did not get a
reply. I suppose that people don't go to the groups any more once
their ostomy was reversed.... At any rate, I would like to hear from
people who have been through a reversal and are living with a j-pouch
now what was involved in
getting from here to there?
How long were in you in the hospital for the reversal?
How many times did you go to the bathroom in the beginning and how
long did it take to slow down?
Are you happy with the j-pouch - or did you go back to the ileostomy
in the end?
Thanks,
Elsie
