All inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn's disease, diabetes,
fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, etc. are increasing because
the increase in refined carbohydrates in the diet, the increase in
hydrogenated fatty acids (trans fats) and deficiencies in many
nutritional essentials. Sugar consumption is skyrocketing in line with
the disease rates. The excessively high comsumption of omega-6 fatty
acids from vegetable oils found in grains, nuts and seeds are also to
blame in combination with deficiencies in omega-3 fatty acids found in
cold water fish and cod liver oil. Omega-6 fatty acids are
scientifically proven to be pro-inflammatory to the intestinal tract,
cardiovascular system, skin, etc. Omega-3 fatty acids are
anti-inflammatory and heal these tissues.

The lining of the intestinal tract is one of the most delicate in the
body. The surface tissues are replaced every 3 to 5 days according to
many sources. The lining requires amino acids to build new protein
molecules and many vitamins and minerals are needed to act as
cofactors in forming the new protein molecules. Deficiencies literally
cause molecular holes in the lining in a condition called leakygut
syndrome. Molecules from food or dead bacteria parts leak through the
lining into the blood stream. The body immediately sees these as
invaders and the immune system sets about to destroy them.
Unfortunately, some of these molecules are nearly identical to protein
molecules of the body. The immune system set about to attack
everything of a similar molecule including the body itself.
