30 year survivor question

by Vince <westmiguy@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sep 30, 2008 at 10:25 PM

Hi all,

I'm a 30 year testicular cancer survivor (July 1978). I'm also a
prostate cancer survivor (July 2000). My PSA has been going up and my
current Urologist and Oncologist are considering doing radiation as I've
already had the surgery for the prostate cancer. My question is I have
no records from my surgery or radiation back in 1978. The radiation
oncologist needs to know how many RAD's of radiation I got back in 1978.
I know my oncologist back then told me my radiation dosage was going to
be the minimum, because the type of testicular cancer I had was very
treatable with surgery and the minimum dose of radiation. I had the
radiation 5 days a week, alternating sides, for I believe 4 weeks. Does
anybody know what the minimum dosage of radiation was back in those
days. I've contacted the hospital where I had the radiation treatment
and they are trying to find my old records from their archives. No luck
so far.

Any help or suggestions for me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Vince
