Newbe post question

by "Zimmy" <zimmy100@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 6, 2004 at 10:16 PM

Here goes...I MUST withdraw from a two year morphine addiction. Perhaps
some background would help. I have had chronic pain for fifteen years.
Graduated from family doctor taking me through the rounds of Darvocet,
Vicodin, Percocet until I needed more than he could write legally. The
pain
wasn't getting worse, just the need for more drug in the system. Anyway,
I
now take 100 mg Morphine three times a day and can hardly stay awake at
work. I almost got fired this week for performance issues (not to mention
severe memory problems). I can't do the job I have been doing now for
fifteen years. I think I can handle the pain after I get off the pain
meds,
find other ways of coping with it without Morphine. This dastardly Pain
Management clinic put me on, during my first visit, and mind you I was
just
fini****ng my last bottle of Percocet, Methadone and Morphine together.
When
I asked if this wasn't a little much I almost got kicked out of the place.
Guess I should have known when I rear-ended other vehicles twice by
falling
asleep at the wheel during the first three months on this medication. Is
there a safe way to detox myself. Step down the dose, amount of pills
each
day until I can get a week off and cold turkey withdraw here at home.
There
are reasons, mentioned above, that I cannot go through the doctor for this
plan. Anyone have any suggestions? I would be most appreciative

I would also appreciate it if you could reply to my Hotmail account at
