I have twin boys who will be three in April. For quite some time now, we
have had issues with bedtime and naptime. They do not take naps during
the
day, even though they need one. They are incredibly cranky and crabby and
tired enough to be walking into things, but no routine I try to establish
for naptime will work. If I\'m lucky, I can get the one to sleep for 5
minutes, but that\'s all.
Bedtime is a different issue entirely. They will not go to sleep unless
their Dad is in the room with them. We have tried that thing where you
walk out when they are almost asleep, we\'ve tried moving closer to to the
door every other night. Nothing works except staying right in the middle
of the room until they are both asleep. This has been going on now for
months.
Recently, just after we moved to a bigger apartment, they have started
waking for the day between 4:30 and 5:30 in the morning. This is
unacceptable, since they won\'t go back to sleep or play quietly. My
husband works full time, I\'m taking 18 credits at Uni right now. We
can\'t get enough sleep! Do you have any suggestions? I\'ve taken to
getting them changed and fed, then dozing on the couch while they play for
a little while-no more than 30 minutes, but I hate doing that, since I
worry they\'ll get into something before I register it\'s too quiet for
two
2yo boys to be playing. I\'m at my wits end. Does anyone have any
suggestions?
